STUDENTS OF MRS. ASBURY REGULARLY PLACE IN LOCAL AND REGIONAL COMPETITIONS, SUCH AS THE ANNUAL COMPETITION SPONSORED BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SINGING TEACHERS. MRS. ASBURY'S INTERESTS IN ARTS ADMINISTRATION AND VOICE SCIENCE HAVE LEAD TO NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PRESENTATIONS, LECTURES, AND PAPERS. ALTHOUGH CLASSICALLY TRAINED, SHE HOLDS CERTIFICATIONS IN NON-CLASSICAL SINGING STYLES, INCLUDING THE LOVETRI METHOD IN CONTEMPORARY COMMERCIAL MUSIC and Estill Voice training.

Her personal interest in Pilates has lead to a unique combination with her professional life. She holds certification in Mat Pilates and often combines concepts from Pilates related to posture and breath with her vocal approach.
